Goblins 2013
Another fun neighborhood Halloween parade. Met up with the Gep Family, the Lewis Family, and lots of other friends. The festivities wouldn't have been complete without a bloody knee (Liam), costume malfunctions (Tristen), a wrong turn (all of us). Peaks frozen custard at the end made it all worthwhile.

Berts, Ernies, Bernies
Pumpkins are generally Berts or Ernies. I usually prefer an Ernie myself -- who can resist a round pumpkin? -- though this year I went with a "Bernie."
Compare, contrast to years past.
Tillie wiped down the pumpkins for us.
Quin from across the street stopped by while we were carving.
Shirtless is really the way to go.
Carving crew: Amy and Katie joined us.
Abigail, I wanted change it up, but the shape of my "Bernie" pumpkin just begged for a classic design!
Spooky.

Pumpkin patch
Our house has become known as "the pumpkin patch" to the neighborhood. We even made the Maple Leaf blog!

Trick or treat 2010: THE year
This is it. Tristen will never enjoy Halloween more than he is this year. He has been through his candy bag fingering and admiring the shapes and colors 100 times, guessing at what each piece will taste like. Last night I caught him eating candy corn with his eyes closed.
This morning I asked Tristen if he'd be willing to share a piece of Halloween candy. He handed me the wrapper from the Whoppers he ate yesterday and said, "Here, lick this." I no longer feel guilty for stealing the Snickers last night after he went to bed.
Trick-or-treating pix below. That's Tristen as Super Man, best-friend-from-preschool Owen as a transformer, cousin Elana and neighbor Nicole as a princesses, neighbor Andy as a frog, and cousin Liam as a bee. Not pictured: all the parents, baby Sam, Amy, and Dan. :)
