More of Twin Falls

Twin Falls has got to be one of the best hikes for families! Tillie made it all the way up herself, and I carried her back in the ergo. She slept.

Chris was here, but I think the camera lost batteries part-way through.

Family fall hike

The road to Lake Dorothy was closed, so we doubled back to Wallace Falls. Still a darned nice family hike. Both Chomper and Baby Bear (trail names for Tristen and Tillie) were troopers; we covered about five miles in all.

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest

Dear Tillie, welcome to the Pacific Northwest. Your dad and big bro took you on your first hike. I'm not sure which lake you visited -- I was working -- but clearly you saw the best and worst of it: devil's club and huckleberries. This was the first of MANY family hikes we'll drag you on (just ask Tristen). Good thing you seemed to enjoy it! Love, Mom.

Mom on the mountain

There were a few moments when I thought I might have to call Bo and cop to letting Mom fall off a mountain. But just a few. Overall, she was a TOTAL trooper at Mount Rainier. We spent an evening in the lodge at Longmire and a day hiking at Paradise.

Twin Falls Hike

The book said the trail to Twin Falls was toddler friendly. It was! Tristen made it almost the whole way (2.5 miles round trip) without whining or being carried, but it took us a very long time. We gave him his first trail name on this trip: chomper. He'll use that until he picks his own. Nice day, if a little rainy.
